A Type of Cookbook
Role: graphic designer, production
A Type of Cookbook was an exploration of information design and continuity in a multi-page format. Illustrations and engravings are used playfully throughout the design. I handcrafted this book with book board, book cloth, PVA glue, recycled paper, marble endpaper and screwposts were used for binding.
Japanese Stab Binding
Role: graphic designer, production
Japanese stab binding is a style of book binding, where a stack of single sheet pages is stitched together. I handcrafted this book with book board, book cloth, PVA glue, embroidery floss, and decorative as well as recycled paper. After carefully measuring the components, I cut the materials and used an awl to puncture holes along the spine, lashing it together with needle and thread.
